When I was doing my poster for last weeks project I did it on the Socialist Party. When I was reading their platform and all their ideas I came across their ideas on arts and culture. "The Socialist Party believes that art is an integral part of daily life, and should not be treated as a commodity produced by the activity of an elite group. All members of society should have ample oppor-tunities for participation in art and cultural activities." Over all this was the socialist's main idea on the arts and culture. Along with this, the members had the ideas to put full support on having incomes and grants on artists and performers, support on making school art classrooms and workplaces to also be shown as cultural centers, support on colored people, women, and disabled to be artists and performers if they choose to be, and full support for artists to form union groups to protect their rights. The Socialist Party also want to put full funding on all the art programs for all ages and full funding on all school and community art classes. The members also want to have funding on all the art and cultural building in the United States and to have it open for all. With that, the members decided to keep preserving all the present and future art and culture buildings for all the citizens to enjoy. The Socialist party want art and culture in the community and have good ideas to keep it in the community for as long as they want too. They believe in art being good for the people and that it helps with everyday life and that is why art and culture should be funded instead of going away.
