Right off the bat this article goes straight into why art is needed for every school. The editor of this article describes how art impacts children and it is a necessary need. Art helps promote skills children will need in their daily lives and in their future as they grow up. Art improves learning and sharpens the creative mind of how children can think outside the box and have unique ways of doing projects, Teachers strongly suggest art and always see improvement when kids learn and use art in their daily lives. This article states how the economy is not doing good and if the economy goes down further art is going to be the first program to be cut. By the government or districts cutting art programs, they do save money, but the children and adults who love art now lose what they wanted in life. If the schools decide to keep art as a program, some schools are limited of classroom space and again art is cut and the art teacher does not even have her own classroom. Instead she or he has to push a cart around and teach from other teacher's classrooms instead of their own studios. This article wants to keep art and continue using art to reach out to people and to connect with meaning and emotions instead of cutting art off completely and never using creativity again.
